No, you can drive all the way up to Gjendeosen and park there for up to two hours for free, provided you park in the indicated space and collect a ticket from the automatic parking meter.

Tents are not accepted. You will find better suited places for tents outside the parking lot. There are several great campsites in Sjodalen and towards Beitostølen that would suit you better.
Look at www.gjendepark.no There is also ticket machine at Reinsvangen. You can park for up to two hours for free at Lake Gjende, but remember to get a ticket from the machine in the parking lot.
There are charging opportunities at Maurvangen and Gjendesheim
Gjendesheim has its own guest car park, where you can stay as long as you are a guest at Gjendesheim. After checking out, you will have to move your car to one of our car parks.
The first bus leaves from the parking lot 45 60 minutes before the first ferry departure. After that, the bus runs continuously, and the last bus leaves 15 minutes before each ferry departure. There is also a bus running every 30 minutes in the evening. See the poster at the bus stop to know when the last bus is leaving.
